Hi there! My name is Mai Nhia which can be pronounced My-Nia or like now some people say My-Knee-Ahhhhhh! I am a 17 year old fashion enthusiast. I was born in Fresno, CA which later moved to Oklahoma when I was around 13. The name MaiAmour is a name that took me an entire day at school to think of! It has my name in it and also amour which means love in French :D I love fashion so I thought it would be a great name for my shop :)
Well I remember never wearing a skirt or dress unless it was for a special occasion but it all changed. I had a great idea when we were moving into our new house and I had a lot of clothes that didn't fit me anymore or were hand me downs. The clothes were still in good condition so I had a brilliant idea to take pictures of it and sell it on Facebook. I was around 14 at the time and used a crappy quality camera and determinedly took photos and listed it on Facebook and adding all the possible people I could. Soon enough, people were buying the clothes from me. I still remember when I made my first $100 by myself. I jumped and ran around the house. I then discovered 2 websites called Style.ly and Yardsellr.com where you can sell clothes. I gradually made my way up being one of the top Style.ly sellers but sadly, both sites shut down. A few weeks later, I stumbled upon a site called Storenvy where I sold preordered items. When I first started, I checked everyday if I had any sale but none so I called it quits. After coming back from a family vacation, I checked my Paypal account and surprisingly, there was over $1000 in there which I was so surprised. I checked my Storenvy and realized that I had sold over 40 items the past month. I spent that night sending the items to my lovely customers. From then on, Storenvy was my job. I dedicated my time on there and made my own money and sold over 2,000 items. At this time, no one knew of my "job" but my family and grandma. During this year, I bought myself clothes which people would tell me that I was spoiled for people having buy me clothes and I didn't want to say what my job was so I just denied and moved on. A year later, I decided to tell my cousins my job at a family event. They were so surprised and finally realized how I had money. lol. By the time I was 16 and old enough to work, I saved up money enough to buy a car! I then got 2 jobs, and continued to work online. By now, I was too busy now for the shop online so I just focused on school and went to work. I am so glad to have found great sites and have great ideas to have come this far. No one still knows of what I do so I feel like Hannah Montana. HAHA! I had a dream at 14 to own my own clothing store and I hope to get there one day. By now, my dreams are to open a clothing store, cafe, become a psychologist or accountant, while being a fashion travel blogger :D Sounds crazy right? The moral of the story is that if you have an idea, go for it because you never know where it will take you. Even if you think it is a stupid idea, do it! The stupidest ideas are the most creative. Dream big! <3
Thank you for reading this boring story! and thank you my lovely customers for helping me get this far.
